Our Horses

Buddy (on the left) is a 19 year old Missouri Fox Trotter. Buddy has found a new home with a young lady that thinks he's the greatest horse in the world!
Candy (in the middle) is a 12 year old Registered Quarter Horse. She is a really big girl and a beauty!
Domingo (on the right) is an eight year old quarter paint mix. He is a gelding and the "leader of the pack".

buckbarn.jpg

We built this barn in the summer of 2010 across the creek in the buck's pasture. It was a much need addition to our farm.

Our creek is really flowing after several days of spring rains.

Isabelle's doeling being curious about the cat

lillyandjack.jpg

This little cutie was born 2-18-11. Unfortunately, we had to find him and his mama a new home. Lilly was very protective and hurt some of the baby goats when they got too curious about her baby.

gustwo.jpg

Gus was born on 9-5-09 and has been raised with our bucks.  He is very protective of his boys and stays with them 24-7. He has become a great guardian.

jakeonwheeler.jpg

That's a nice grin considering he's been working around the farm all day!

The girls are standing under the Persimmon tree hoping to get some of that sweet fruit. Everything on the farm loves those persimmons!

A swarm of bees we were able to catch one spring

rosie.jpg

Rosie was on our farm for several years and gave us two heifers and we, also, raised many babies on her.  We sold her in the winter of 2011. I've always liked the is picture of her.

scottoncandy.jpg

Enjoying some time with Candy-Girl......... we call her "the other woman"!

hondo.jpg

Meet Hondo. He is a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. We brought him home to our farm, early, in January 2012. He was two months old. We want him to grow up with the goats and Delilah and hope he'll be as good of a guardian as Delilah has been. He's a sweet baby and he settled in, quickly, at his new home.

sallycat.jpg

Sally, one of our barn cats

delilahinbarn.jpg

We bought Delilah when she was three months old. She is an excellent guard dog. It has always been amazing to watch her at work with her goats. She is very loving and gentle with the babies. Our farm wouldn't be the same without Delilah taking care of things.

geeseandyoung.jpg

Our pair of geese and their young, which should be goslings. They're not! They are actually raising five ducklings. Apparently the female stole the nest of one of our female ducks. They have no idea that their babies are ducks!!

websitehoppics.jpg

Hop was our loyal, yellow lab. He never missed out on anything happening around here. He loved to hear the four wheeler start up and he enjoyed the creek everyday. We lost him to heat stroke in the summer of 2009. We were crazy about him and miss him terribly!

cocoa.jpg

This is Cocoa, our female Chocolate Lab. She has been on our farm since the spring of 2009. She has really helped make the loss of Hop easier for us. She is very loyal and we are so happy she is part of our family.

wagonwheel.jpg

I just like the picture!

commanche.jpg

This is Commanche. He is a 6 year old, Palamino Quarter Horse, gelding. We bought him in the summer of 2011. We're making a ranch horse out of him and training him for deer hunting, as well.

chance.jpg

This is Chance, the newest addition to our farm. He is a registered, American Paint/Quarter Horse, stud. He is six years old. When we purchased him, he had spent all of his life in the pasture as a stud horse with no training. Within a couple of weeks, we were already riding him and even shooting off of his back. He is going to make a fine Cowboy Action Shooting horse.

Baby Butch......how cute he is. He's still as sweet today as he was then.

A few of the "little girls" doin' the same

sam.jpg

This is Sam. He's been with us since he was six weeks old. He'll be six months old in Feb. 2012, so, he's still got a lot of growing to do. He lives on our porch and sleeps with Cocoa, most of the time. Right now, he's just bringing us a lot of entertainment. Hopefully, he'll grow up to be a good hunter.
